Raw Cashew Butter – “Raw” Cashewnötssmör

After my little outing the other day with the energy bites, I decided to try something else. raw cashew butter. It’s kind of like peanut butter, but with cashew flavor. It was a little scary to make… Because the mixing process was very long and not really expected. The nuts go through many different stages, crumbly, dough, just a very thick blur, and then it turns into butter. I took step-by-step pictures, so that you too can follow the process. It took about 35 min in total, but you have to let the food processor rest every now and then. The result is a smooth, creamy, slightly sweet cashew butter. Definitely something to try!

Efter mitt lilla äventyr med energibollar häromdagen bestämde jag mig för att prova något annat. Det här blir lite som jordnötssmör fast med cashewsmak. Det var lite oroväckande att göra… Mest för att själva processen var lång och lite oväntad. Nötterna går igenom olika faser, smulig, degig, tjock och odefinierbar, innan det blir smör. Det tog ca 35 min, men man måste låta mixern vila lite mellan varven. resultatet är ett slätt, krämigt, lite sött cashewsmör. Helt klart värt att pröva!

Recipe / Recept 

1 bag of natural cashew nuts / 2 påsar naturella cashewnötter 

food processor / mixer 

1. Mix, mix, mix and mix until the nuts have turned into a smooth butter. / Mixa, mixa, mixa och mixa lite till, tills nötterna blivit ett smör.

2. Keep in jars in the fridge. / Förvara i förslutna burkar i kylen.

3. Done! / Klart!
