In Sweden, one of our classic desserts (that I’ve written about before) is called “maräng swiss” it basically translates into “Meringue swiss”. The debate is how to pronounce the “swiss” is it like swiss, schwiss, schwish or something else? The one thing that’s for certain is that the dessert includes cream, ice cream, bananas, meringues and chocolate sauce. The chocolate sauce (or should I say syrup) that is store bought is not able to compete with making warm, homemade chocolate sauce! So here comes my best recipe – and please try this dessert…. You will love it!
Recipe / Recept
0.8 cups of cream / 2 dl grädde
0.4 cups of sugar / 1 dl socker
0.4 cups of syrup / 1 dl sirap
5 tbsp of cacao powder / 5 msk kakao
1 tsp of butter / 1 tsk smör
1. Put everything in a pot with a thick bottom. / Lägg allt i en kastrull med tjock botten.
2. Bring to boil. / Koka upp.
3. Let simmer for about 10 min or until desired texture. / Låt puttra i ca 10 min, eller tills den blivit så tjock som du vill.
4. Done! / Klart!
